Most folks like their doctors and expect to keep them when 2022 rolls around. But an unpleasant surprise is finding out your doctor has left your plan’s network right when you need to see them. A great way to avoid surprises at the start of January 2022 is to do a Medicare Advantage plan checkup during Medicare’s Annual Election Period (AEP).

AEP begins on Oct. 15 and runs until Dec. 7. Medicare experts can review current Medicare Advantage plans, benefits, and doctors to confirm the coverage folks need for the coming year to avoid surprises.

And if a change of doctors or coverage is needed, folks can make a change.
